Uiteet is nie vir sissies nie.

Hiervan kan enige besoeker aan FlyDining getuig en binnekort gaan Swakopmund ook spog met een van dié unieke restaurante-in-die-lug.

Melissa en Gavin Jonk beplan om FlyDining Swakopmund teen Mei 2020 hoog in die wolke te begin.

FlyDining is ’n uitsonderlike ervaring wat avontuur en etes kombineer om letterlik ’n hemelse eetervaring te bied. Die kinkel in die kabel is, anders as jou gewone sit-en-eet-restaurant, dat moet jy vlieg voor jy kan proe.

Die unieke konsep gee mense die kans om 50 meter bo die ’n vyfster-, vyfgangete te geniet, ’n drankie te drink en vrolik te wees.

Die restaurant word met ’n hyskraan in die lug gehou.

Melissa het gesê die eetplek in die wolke kan 24 mense op ’n slag akkommodeer.

“Daar is sitplek vir enkellopers, paartjies en groepe.”

Presies waar die restaurant gaan hang, kan in die stadium nie bevestig word nie. Melissa het wel gesê gaste sal beslis ’n uitsig oor die dorp, see en duine hê.

So ’n ete in die lug sal ongeveer 45 minute duur, en die dapper eters kan aansit, oftewel opgehys word, vir ontbyt, middag- en aandete.

Intussen is Melissa besig om die spyskaart te finaliseer, met die fokus op Namibiese disse.

FlyDining kan in 45 van die 195 lande geniet word en die veiligheidsmaatreëls is uiters streng.

“Jy moet bedryfsregte bekom om ’n FlyDining-franchise te besit. Die besigheid se regulasies is duidelik en uiters streng oor hoe ons passasiers moet beveilig.”

Gaste word in ’n stoel vasgegespe wat rondom ’n etenstafel gerangskik is. Daar is ook plek vir tussen een en vier personeellede in die “kombuis-afdeling” wat in die middel van die restaurant gelëe is.

Melissa het gesê sy het self nog nie die voorreg gehad om FlyDining te beleef nie, maar hoop om eersdaags na Indië te reis waar sy aan die ervaring sal meemaak. “Ek kan nie iets bemark wat ek self nog nie beproef het nie.”

Die inisiatief sal die bestaande unieke toeristetrekpleisters op Swakopmund komplementeer.

“Dit is beslis iets opwindend wat Swakopmund kan bied,” het Melissa gesê.
