The Erongo police hosted another set of meetings with famers in Omaruru and Omatjete over the past weekend.
According to the Erongo police regional commander for community affairs, inspector Ileni Shapumba, farmers allege that drug abuse among the youth may be a contributing factor to stock theft.
“The meeting resolved to improve the existing working relationship between the police and the communities. We are gathering intelligence and are looking for information on drug related activities particularly in Otjimbingwe and Omatjete.”
Shapumba appealed for anyone with tangible information on any premises where drugs are sold or persons dealing in drugs, to urgently contact police officers and the police station commanders in these areas without delay.
