Dorpsraad sê oor Farm 37

Inwoners van Kuisebmond beskuldig die munisipale raad van misbruik om stemme vir die verkiesings te werf.

Die Walvisbaaise munisipale raad het verskeie openbare vergaderings gehou met die oog daarop om inwoners in te lig oor die vordering gemaak in verband met Farm 37.

Tydens die Kuisebmond-vergadering het die inwoners die raad daarvan beskuldig dat hul die byeenkomste gebruik as’n strategie om stemme te kry vir die presidents- en nasionale verkiesings wat later die maand plaasvind.

Honderde inwoners het opgedaag vir die vergadering, maar was nie baie beïndruk dat die raad tot enkele weke voor die verkiesing gewag het om hulle in te lig oor Farm 37 nie.

Die onderburgemeester, Penelope Martin, raadslede Romeo Goseb en Tobias Nambala, asook die uitvoerende hoof, Muronga Haingura, het die gemeenskapslede op Kuisebmond toegespreek.

Die burgemeester van Walvisbaai, Immanuel Wilfred, raadslid Valencia Isaaks, John Manale, bestuurder van behuising en eiendom, en John Esterhuizen, hoofbestuurder van die department water en omgewing, het lede van die gemeenskap op Narraville toegespreek.

Aan die begin van die Narraville-vergadering het Wilfred dit duidelik gemaak dat die vergaderings nie belê is om enige politieke agenda te bevorder nie.

Farm 37 is in 2016 deur die Walvisbaai-stadsraad en die Erongo-streeksraad geïdentifiseer as ’n oplossing om meer as 30 000 inwoners te hervestig van wie 19 000 in plakkershutte woon. Tot dusver is goedkeuring verleen vir die beskikbaarstelling van kleiner erwe van 200 vierkante meter.

Tot dusver is die goedkeuring van die dorspgemeenskapraad gedurende September 2019 ontvang en die finale aanstelling van die landmeter is in Oktober gedoen.

Advertensies vir die aanstelling van konsultante vir die ontwerp van dienste (strate, elektriese werking, waterpype en rioolstelsel) is reeds in Augustus en September gedoen, met die evaluering wat in Oktober en November plaasgevind het, en die konsultante se aanstelling in Desember.

Die advertensie van die tenderbouprojek sal in Februarie 2020 gepubliseer word, met die evaluering en aanstelling van die kontrakteurs wat in Maart 2020 sal plaasvind.

Die vestiging van die terrein sal ongeveer April 2020 geskied, en die geskatte konstruksietydperk van hierdie dienste sal ongeveer 12 maande wees.

Farm 37 sal ongeveer 37 000 erwe lewer. Walvisbaai het tans slegs 16 843 erwe (ontwikkel en onontwikkeld).

Volgens ’n opname wat in 2017 gedoen is, was daar ongeveer 6 424 plakkershutte in agt gebiede van Kuisebmond. Sowat 5 107 mense het werk, met 1 175 wat werkloos is. Die gemiddelde inkomste is ongeveer N$ 3 300 per maand, met die minimum N$220 en die maksimum N$6 696.
