Namibiërs wie se voete jeuk, het tot 31 Mei kans om in te skryf vir die vyfde reeks van die Afrikaanse tele­visieprogram “Dans In Jou Taal” wat op KykNet Nou (kanaal 146) uitgesaai word.

Die wenners kan met 'n deel van R100 000 se pryse wegstap.

Die program is geskoei op dieselfde formaat as sangkompetisies. Die verskil is egter dat die kameras en beoordelaars nou fokus op diegene met bedrewe voete.

Dit is juis die doel met “Dans In Jou Taal”, sê Charmaine Laurence, 'n mede-vervaardiger van die program.

“Ek ken vir Antonie Bougas baie goed en ek het hom genader omdat ek kompetisiedansers in Suid-Afrika die geleent­heid wou gee om hul talent te vertoon,” sê sy.



Formaat verander

Die kompetisie wat nou in sy vyfde bestaansjaar is, aanvaar gewoonlik net dansgroepe.

Laurence sê Covid-19 het haar gedwing om die formaat te verander. “Ek wou nooit solo's toelaat nie, maar met alles wat nou aangaan, moes ons maar ons benadering ver­ander,” sê sy.

Laurence meen ten spyte van haar oorspronklike idee is die verandering welkom, met sowat 30 Namibiërs wat reeds ingeskryf het.

“Daar is geen beperking op die aantal Namibiërs wat mag inskryf nie. Sou die hele 270 dansers wat gekies word Namibiërs wees, beteken dit eenvoudig dat die Namibiese inskrywings die beste was,” sê sy.

Die kinkel in die kabel is dat die dansende kompe­teerders nie na 'n ateljee hoef te gaan om deel te neem nie. Alles word van­uit die gemak van hul eie huise opgeneem.

“Natuurlik sal ons vir die dansers wat deelneem vereistes uitstippel, maar ons gaan nie die groep in 'n ateljee laat optree nie.”

Deelnemers sal teen einde Julie weet of hulle aanvaar is.

Vanjaar se beoordelaars is die ballerina Sharonne van der Vyver, Amore Vittone wat vir sewe jaar agtereenvolgens die Suid- Afrikaanse moderne en tapdanskampioenskap gewen het, asook André Calitz.

Die program word deur Angelique Gerber aangebied. Die aktrise en tele­visiepersoonlikheid het vir haarself naam gemaak as Clara in die Afrikaanse sepiereeks 7de Laan en is ook bekend as aanbieder van die “Boer Soek 'n Vrou” realiteitsreeks.
