Coastal T10 cricket league on fire

Blue Waters Cricket Club I defeated Sparta Cricket Club 1 with 7 wickets in a Coastal T10 cricket league match played at the Sparta Recreational Grounds in Walvis Bay.

Sparta I won the toss, elected to bat and scored 70 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their allotted 10 overs. Blue Waters I scored 74 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 8.2 overs. Samson Chivi was the top run scorer with 23 runs (including four 4’s) from 17 balls. Walter Fokkens (21 runs for 2 overs) and John Calaca (7 runs for 2 overs) each took 2 wickets for Blue Waters I. Mathews De Gouviea was the best batsman for Blue Waters I. He scored 32 runs (including six 4’s) from 25 balls. This performance earned him the man of the match award. Zhivago Groenewald also added 24 runs (including two 4’s and two 6’s) from 11 balls. Helmut Mack (13 runs for 2 overs) and Samson Chivi (12 runs for 2 overs) each took a wicket for Sparta I.

Second match

JCCA defeated Pro-Ed Old Boys I Cricket Club by 8 wickets in a match played at the Walvis Bay Oval. PEOBCC won the toss, elected to bat first and scored 125 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in their allotted 10 overs. JCCA scored 128 runs for the loss of 1 wicket in 9.3 overs. Eric Wilson smashed 45 runs (including five 4’s and two 6’s) from 29 deliveries. Scott Winborn (22 runs in 2 overs) and Frans Filipus (10 runs in 1 over) each took a wicket for JCCA. Victor van Der Watt was the best batsman for JCCA. He scored 72 runs (including two 4’s and nine 6’s) from 31 deliveries. This performance earned him the man of the match award. Renier Bosman (17 runs in 2 overs) and Kyle Sounders (23 runs in 1.3 overs) each took 1 wicket for PEOBCC.

Third match

Pro-Ed Old Boys II Cricket Club defeated Blue Waters II with 45 runs in a match played at Sparta. PEOBCC II won the toss, elected to bat first and scored 107 runs for the loss of three wickets in their allotted 10 overs. Blue Waters scored 62 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in their allotted 10 overs. Nicholas was the best run scorer with 58 (including ten 4’s and one 6) from 33 balls. This performance earned him the man of the match award. Junior Kariata was the best bowler for Blue Waters II. He took 2 wickets for 14 runs in 2 overs. Vincent Murapo was the best batsman for Blue Waters II with 31 runs (including one 4 and one 6) from 28 balls. Dan Brassel (8 runs for 2 overs) and Charl Wilson (25 runs for 2 overs) each took one wicket for PEOBCC II.

Fourth match

Sparta I CC defeated PEOBCC II by 3 runs in a match played at the Sparta Recreational Grounds. PEOBCC II won the toss, elected to bowl and scored 91 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in their allotted 10 overs. PEOBC scored 88 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their allotted 10 overs. Sparta I scored 91 for the loss of 4 wickets in their allotted 10 overs. Samson Chivi was the best batsman for Sparta I. He scored 39 runs (six 4’s and one 6) from 21 balls and was named man of the match. Jurie Engelbrecht was the best bower for PEOBCC II. He took 2 wickets for 12 runs from 2 overs. Charl Wilson was the top run scorer for PEOPBCC II with 29 runs (including two 4’s and one 6) from 20 balls. Helmut Mack (10 runs for 2 overs) and Marnus Van Niekerk (12 runs for 1 over) both took two wickets for Sparta I.

Fifth match

PEOBCC I defeated Blue Waters I with 9 wickets. Blue Waters I won the toss, elected to bat first and scored 81 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in their allotted 10 overs. PEOBCC I scored 85 runs for the loss of 1 wicket in 7.2 overs. Matthew De Gouviea was the top run scorer for Blue Waters I with 21 runs (including two 4’s and one 6) from 12 balls. Eric Wilson (10 runs for 2 overs), Renier Bosman (19 runs for 2 overs) and Herman Van Zyl (7 runs form 1 over) each took a wicket for EOBCCI. Wilson was the top run scorer for PEOBCC I. He scored 43 runs (including two 4’s and four 6’s) from 23 balls and named player of the match. Zhivago Groenewald was the best bower for Blue Waters I. He took 1 wicket for 20 runs in 2 overs.

Sixth match

JCCA defeated Blue Waters by 13 runs in a match played at the Walvis Bay Oval. JCCA won the toss, elected to bat and scored 100 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their allotted 10 overs. Blue Waters II scored 87 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in their allotted 10 overs. Gerhard Lottering was the best batsman for JCCA with 47 runs (including seven 4’s and oner 6) from 23 balls. This performance earned him the man of the match award. Jeremia Shilongo was the best bowler for Blue Waters. He took 2 wickets for 11 runs in 2 overs. Olange Nadjedi was the top batsman for Blue Waters II. He scored 28 runs (including two 4’s) from 31 balls. Gerhard Lottering (16 runs for 2 overs), Roelof Van Niekerk (10 runs for 2 overs) and Ethan Hendricks (15 runs for 2 overs) each took one wicket for JCCA.

Upcomiing fixtures 14 November 2021

PEOBCCC II takes on JCCA at 9:00 and PEOBCC I play Blue Waters II in Swakopmund. Blue Waters I play Sparta II at 9:00 and JCCA takes on Sparta II at 13:00. Both matches will be played at the oval.
