Glynis Bacher; Tournament Director; “The new division is mainly for younger kids.”

The Coastal Pirates Business League takes place at The Dome in Swakopmund this weekend.

The tournament, which accommodated 37 teams last year, sees 44 teams competing this year.

The business league tournament is known for competing teams dressing up according to a theme, competing for the title of best dressed team.

This year, a new division makes its debut. The new co-ed division accommodates teams that consist of equal amounts of male and female players.

Teams in the league must consist of six members, hence the new division requires teams accommodating 3 boys and 3 girls.
Glynis Bacher, the tournament director, says that this change was made to cater for players in younger age groups.

“The new division is mainly for younger kids. They often do not have enough eligible players to form a full team.”

Last year, Brauhaus defeated Altstadt 3-0 in the open division. This year, however, Brauhaus appears to not have entered a team, thus giving Altstadt an opportunity to shine in their absence.
