Local companies, individuals and entities joined forces at the National Clean-Up day on Saturday in Walvis Bay.

The collection of refuse started at about 12:00 with the municipality distributing refuse bags to the locals.

Schools such as Seaside Primary School, Kuisebmond Primary and Secondary School, Narraville Primary School, Duinesig Combined School, Flamingo Primary School and Tutaleni Primary School already started cleaning in and around their schools on Friday.

The Walvis Bay Municipality encouraged the residents to clean up where they are with this year’s slogan being ‘let’s change our attitude’.

Residents were also encouraged to send their before and after clean-up photos and videos which was uploaded to the Municipality’s Facebook page. The winner of the best photo or video will pay a courtesy visit to the mayor’s office.
