Ramos Realtors Namibia launched and called for entries for its “funky mask” competition, which seeks to change the perception of people about wearing masks.

The Erongo region recently reverted to stage 1 of the lockdown and according to the owner of Ramos Realtors Namibia, Claudia Lofty-Eaton, the competition will allow people who are stuck at home due to the lockdown to have some fun while creating a positive spin on the wearing of masks.

“Most people are very negative about wearing masks; many do not want to wear them at all. People say they feel uneasy and uncomfortable when wearing masks. If they can come up with a mask that is inspirational, it may encourage others to change their attitude and wear their mask,” she said.

To enter, participants must take a selfie or photo of themselves while doing something “funky” with their mask on. They can also create their own funky and inspirational masks.

Claudia said that the selfies and photos can be sent via WhatsApp to 081 292 6746 along with your name, surname, age and the town where you live.

“By entering, participants automatically agree to the terms and conditions which are available on Ramos Realtors Namibia Facebook page,” she added.

All entries will be posted on the Ramos Realtors Namibia Facebook page for sharing and to generate likes. The top 15 candidates will enter the final draw, where the winners will be determined by means of a random draw.

Prizes up for grabs include a Samsung Galaxy A20 cellphone, a genuine leather skirt, a fuel voucher worth N$500, a back and neck massage, two pizza vouchers worth N$150, four Disney Frozen watches, five sanitising kits and three 7” tablet covers.

Apart from the winning prizes, there will also be a prize for the entry with the most views as well as for the entry with the most shares.

The competition closes on 8 July and the winners will be announced on 10 July.

Ramos Realtors Namibia’s two previous competitions were the Let’s get physical boomerang competition and a Namibian Independence Day competition, which targeted youngsters. Both of these competitions took place during the current lockdown.
