Mnr. Ralph Bussel is aangewys as die nuwe uitvoerende direkteur van die Namibiese Instituut vir Mynbou en Tegnologie (NIMT), het die voorsitter van die direksie, mnr. Albius Mwiya, bevestig.

Bussel neem oor by wyle mnr. Eckhart Müller, wat drie jaar gelede buite die kampus in ’n opspraakwekkende sluipmoord vermoor is.

Die pos van die uitvoerende direkteur is in Mei vanjaar geadverteer en Bussel het as die mees geskikte kandidaat na vore getree na die werwings- en keuringsproses afgehandel is.

Bussel se hoofdoelwit as die uitvoerende direkteur van NIMT is om te verseker dat die instelling wat mynbou-, vervaardigings- en ingenieurswese kursusse aanbied, ambagsmanne van hoë gehalte oplewer.

Hy het gesê dat hy sy bes sal doen om die nalatenskap van wyle Müller voort te sit.

“Hy was ’n legende. Dit sal ’n groot taak wees om te verseker dat die algehele gehalte dieselfde bly en verbeter vir praktiese en tegniese opleiding vir ambagte by NIMT.”

Bussel, wat sedert 2019 as waarnemende uitvoerende direkteur gedien het en amptelik op 1 Augustus in sy nuwe pos begin het, het gesê dat hy met ’n gevoel van nederigheid die pos opneem.

Hy is die afgelope 19 jaar by NIMT werksaam ná hy voorheen ’n student by die instelling was.

Bussel het die belangrikheid van noue samewerking tussen opleidingsinstansies en nywerhede beklemtoon.

“Ons moet buigsaam wees en voldoen aan die behoeftes van die bedryf.”

Die oud-NIMT student van die vroeë 1990s word in 2003’aangestel as ’n opleidingsbeampte by dié instelling. Daarna is hy bevorder tot die pos van senior opleidingsbeampte.

Bussel het tot en met 2008 as die hoof van die NIMT Keetmanshoop-kampus gedien voordat hy in 2011 na die Arandis Engenieurswese en Ambagte-kampus oorgeplaas is.

Hy het hierdie posisie tot 2018 behou, en toe die rol van waarnemende uitvoerende direkteur gevul toe Müller oorlede is.

NIMT se hoofkwartiere is op Arandis geleë. Die instelling, wat in 1991 gestig is, het ook kampusse in Tsumeb en Keetmanshoop.
