Body washes ashore near mall

Commissioner Andreas Nelumbu confirmed that the body of one of the missing persons who fell off a boat on Wednesday, was found on Thursday.
According to Nelumbu, the body was that of a man and it washed out in the during the course of the morning.
“His body was washed ashore at the same place he fell overboard yesterday.”
He added that the police have not yet positively identified who the victim was.
Two people went overboard on Wednesday near Platz am Meer shopping mall after the boat they were on, jumped a wave. At the time the incident, five people were on board. The remaining three fishermen were treated for shock after the incident.
It is understood that various emergency response companies including Aquamund Academy and E-Med Rescue joined the attempt the find the missing persons.
According to a senior lifeguard at Aquamund Academy, Erwin Gowaseb, the boat was flung into the air by a big wave a short distance from the shore.
“During this motion, two of the people on the boat were tossed overboard and into the ocean. None of those on board could swim and none wore life jackets.”
