Local rapper Bachmann (24) recently released his latest project, Black Boy, which is available on Donlu Africa, Soundcloud, YouTube, Facebook and Instagram links.

“We want to submit the album to radio stations, but we are still waiting feedback,” says the Walvis Bay-based rapper who won the Rap Battle Namibia title in 2016 and 2017.

So, why the title Black Boy?

“I am Damara. Things like champagne impressed me while I was grow growing up. This album is mainly about learning to enjoy new things, like sipping on champagne,” he said.

Black Boy includes the tracks “Do it”, “Politicians” and “Auto Pilot”, while KK and Desmond “Sensei” Futika joined the artist on the project.

“I co-produced the album with Kyle Adams who produced 95% of the beats. This project is close to my heart, since Kyle passed away before production began. It was my mission to complete it, because of his exceptional talent,” Bachmann said.

The rapper – full name John Peter Bachmann – is known for his creative wordplay and incisive rhymes.

He used the lockdown period to upload freestyle videos to keep his fans entertained on as many social media platforms as possible.

He plans to upload even more videos on social media soon, along with the release a five-track mixtape, Bachmann ft Nam.

His previous work is Stolen Beats and Instrumentals, which was released on 30 April last year.
