Liefhebbers van natuurskoon en avontuur kan uitsien na 'n asemrowende en aksiebelaaide naweek.

'n Belewenis is van 7 tot 9 Augustus by die Erongo Rocks-kampeerterrein in die Omaruru-omgewing in die vooruitsig.

Terry Baker besit en bedryf die kampeerterrein saam met haar kêrel. Sy sê hulle het reeds ongeveer drie maande gelede begin beplan aan die ervaring wat oor drie dae gehou word.

“Ons bied nog altyd hierdie soort aktiwiteite aan en het net besluit om dit mooi in 'n naweekprogram te verpak.

“'n Paar mense het tevore sulke geleenthede probeer aanbied, maar daar was ongelukkig al 'n paar slaggate met die reëlings. Aangesien ons nou van plaaslike toerisme afhanklik is, is dit vir ons ideaal.”

Deur die loop van die dag kan daar rotsklim en ook jagaktiwiteite geniet word. Die Saterdagoggend kan fietsryers aan 'n 65 km gruispadrit deelneem en later in die dag word drawwers op 'n 5 of 10 km drafroete geneem. Die Sondagoggend word 15 km of 30 km met bergfietse gery.

Baker nooi almal om die naweek saam te geniet en sê diegene wat dink hulle is fiks genoeg, kan gerus die hele program aanpak.

“Die fisiese spasie in die drie rots­klimgleuwe is egter beperk. Ons kan net 80 mense op 'n slag hanteer, so ons moet dit in ag neem. Indien spasie dit toelaat, sal ons gaste meer as een keer kan akkommodeer.”

Ná 'n lang dag wanneer die son sy skade aangerig het en die litte behoorlik pyn, sal die Namibiese musikant Riaan Smit die avontuurlustiges om die kampvuur vermaak.

Volgens Smit sien hy baie uit na hier­die “intieme” optrede.

“Dit is altyd lekker om só te kan optree. Daar is geen skeiding tussen jou en die gehoor nie, so dit word dan 'n gemaklike spasie waarin stories gedeel en lekker gekuier word.”

Vir diegene wat hoop om die musikant elders as rondom die kampvuur raak te loop, kan die jogasessie die plek wees om hom te gaan soek.

“Ek dink ek sal net die joga 'n probeerskoot gee. Die rotsklim is gans te hard op die vingers. Om rotse uit te klim en daarna te probeer kitaar speel, sal die vingerpyn ondraaglik maak.”
