Behuising: Waglys bygewerk

Die dorp se beplanningsforum het die vorderingsverslag oor die registrasie van inwoners met ’n behoefte aan behuising op Swakopmund onlangs bespreek.

Die bestuurskomitee van Swakopmund se munisipale raad het goedkeuring gevra om die name van 687 geregistreerde inwoners wat behuising benodig by die meesterwaglys te voeg.

Met die deurlopende registrasie van ongeregistreerde inwoners wat behuising benodig, is voorgestel die name van nuwe aansoekers tussen Oktober 2018 tot Januarie 2020 word by die lys gevoeg.

Die hoofwaglys bestaan uit 12 602 name, waarvan meer as 90% nie vir huise op skuld kwalifiseer nie.

Die bou van dié huise is aan kontrakteurs onder die 40/40-behuisingsprojek toegeken.

Die raad het die departement van gemeenskapsontwikkelingsdienste toestemming gegee om in Januarie 2017 met die registrasie van inwoners voort te gaan wat behuising benodig.

In ’n vorderingsverslag wat in Oktober 2018 ingedien is, het die raad besluit die name van 4 382 pasgeregistreerde aansoekers moet onderaan die lys bygevoeg word.
