Cricket funday in Walvis Bay

Schools participating in the FNB Kwata programme are !Nara Primary School, Narraville Primary School, Walvisbay Private High School and Kuisebmond Private School. Young cricketers from the respective schools played against one another, where after the winners were invited to take part in the FNB Kwata Fun day.
At the event, the Cricket Namibia Development Officer for the Erongo region Justus Hangula emphasized the importance of the event, saying that it is vital to give children the chance to have fun and make friends, while promoting cricket as a sport. He said it was encouraging to note that, “the development of cricket is increasing with more players choosing cricket as a sport over other sport codes”.
FNB Kwata Cricket coordinator, Jona Ambuga, thanked FNB for the initiative and for embracing the culture of cricket at the coast.
Above all else, the Eagles cricket team served as inspiration for the event. The Eagles senior men’s team is currently in Dubai representing Namibia on the cricket pitch.
