A slow day for Covid-19

Less than 10 cases reported

During this morning’s briefing at the Covid Communication Centre, health minister Kalumbi Shangula announced eight new cases of Covid-19, with patients ranging from ages 13 to 44.

All are Walvis Bay residents, with half the group presenting symptoms consistent with the virus at the time of testing.

Shangula said that all are currently in a stable condition and that contact tracing procedures are ongoing.

Four patients had known contacts, while the origin of the virus in others remain unknown.

Currently, 232 of the 293 reported cases nationwide are from Walvis Bay, of which 269 of the total reported cases are still active while 24 patients have recovered.

Cases 286 (28-year old female), 288 (13-year old female), 290 (43-year old female) and 291 (44-year old male) were asymptomatic.
