Eleven of the recoveries are from Windhoek, seven from Walvis Bay, four from Engela and two from Okakarara.
The minister said that of the 719 test results received from NIP and Pathcare laboratories over the past 24 hours, 64 were positive.
The minister said that 44 of these cases are from Walvis Bay, five from Swakopmund and 15 from Windhoek, with 34 being males and 30 females.
The ages of these cases range from 6 to 64- years and contact tracing has been initiated.
The ages of the 15 cases reported in Windhoek range from 22 to 54-years with nine of these patients being females and six males.
“Six of the cases are contacts to confirmed cases. Three of the contacts presented with symptoms consistent with Covid-19 at the time of testing. Nine cases are reported to not have been in contact with confirmed cases but presented with symptoms consistent with Covid-19,” said the minister.
The Windhoek cases reported are from Goreagab, Okuryangava, Golgota, Katutura, Soweto, Suiderhof, Otjomuise, Elisenheim, Wanahenda, Greenwell, Kleine Kuppe, Khomasdal and Eros.
Among these patients are two teachers who teach at the same school.
