Erongo region records four new Covid-19 cases

Dr Kalumbi Shangula; Health minister; “Of the active cases, 15 are in a serious to critical condition.

The minister of health and social services Dr Kalumbi Shangula announced 77 new Covid-19 positive cases, 51 recoveries and two Covid-19 deaths.

Shangula said that 1 041 results were received from the laboratories, with 37 of the newly reported cases being male and 40 female. The youngest patient is 2-years-old and the oldest is 86.

The confirmed cases are distributed as follows: Windhoek (50), Karasburg (6), Keetmanshoop (1), Rehoboth (5), Mariental (1), Okahandja (5), Oshakati (4), Omaruru (2), Walvis Bay (1), Swakopmund (1) and Tsumeb (1).

The minister also announced 51 recoveries, with the majority of these hailing from the Khomas region (40). Recoveries were also recorded in the Oshikoto (8) and Omaheke (3) regions.

Of the active cases, 15 are in a serious or critical condition. In the Erongo region, one patient is seriously ill while three are critical. In the Khomas region, four are seriously ill and seven are in a critical condition.
