Coastal residents that make use of the B2 road between Walvis Bay and Swakopmund have been advised to use an alternative route on 27 October from 07:00 to 19:00.

Namib Film, a production company based in Swakopmund that facilitates international TV productions, will be filming scenes on the B2 road on that day. Nadia van den Heever, production manager of Namib Film, confirmed that the company received permission to use the road. “It is a one-day shoot for an international film, but that is unfortunately all info we can divulge. The filming will take place between Walvis Bay and Langstrand, and road closures will be set-up at Aphrodite Beach and the Narraville bridge, Walvis Bay.”

Van den Heever said that traffic would be stopped intermittently for 15 minutes between 07:00 to 19:00, and asked that motorists use the D1984 behind the dunes as an alternative to avoid delay.
The public will also not be allowed to take pictures or videos of the production. “We will have officers on duty who will be directing the flow of traffic and ensuring that no one gets out of their vehicles. We are following strict protocols during filming.” She expressed her gratitude towards the authorities. “We are grateful that we received permission to close the road, and we are thankful for their assistance.”
