Musician Joharetha Nel will perform at the MTC 081Every1 Hope Concert at the Safari Hotel in Windhoek on Saturday.

Nel was nominated for the Gospel, Music Video, Newcomer and Afrikaans awards at the NBC/MTC Namibia Annual Music Awards (NAWAs) last year.

The Walvis Bay-based songbird expressed her excitement at performing at the show that also feature powerhouse gospel artists like Bucy Radebe and Benjamin Dube.

“It’s a huge honour for me to perform at the MTC 081Every1 Hope Concert. Since the NAMAs, they have made me feel at home and invited me to great shows.”

Nel said that she is truly blessed.

“It’s all about hard work, enjoying what I do and, last but not least, worshiping my Father God through sharing this talent with my country.”

The concert had been postponed due to Covid restrictions which only allowed ten people per gathering. Now that restrictions have eased, the singer looks forward to stepping onto the stage.

“It feels like a dream for us as artists to preform again. Allowing 100 people definitely helps. It’s not the same at all to perform online and for 10 people.”

Nel says music brings people together and she is super excited about the show.

“It’s been a while for me, so goose bumps will definitely be there.”

The singer who mostly sings in Afrikaans, has been busy with shooting a music video for her latest single.

According to the “Atata” hitmaker, the video will be released in the next two weeks.

“I am just waiting for the final draft of the video, which I will most likely get next week.”

The MTC 081Every1 Hope Concert starts at 11:00 on Saturday, with 100 people allowed to purchase VIP tickets for the event.
Ticket cost N$2 000 each, however the concert will be broadcast on the MTC Facebook page and YouTube.

Other Namibian acts gracing the stage include Franklin and Dee’A, Maranatha and others.
