Woman commits suicide, man dies in B2 collision

A woman allegedly committed suicide after a fight with her boyfriend and sister.

A 34-year-old woman committed suicide after a quarrel with her boyfriend and her sister.

The deceased was identified as Fabiola Fatima Mutunda and her next of kin has been informed.

According to the incident report provided by the police, the deceased allegedly arrived at her residence in Middle Post, Otjimbingwe central on Thursday (21 July) around 20:00. "She had a quarrel with her boyfriend and her sister and then left the house, presumably to go to Otjimbingwe central. The deceased was later later (21:00) found hanging from tree (she used a scarf) by a passerby at Middle Pos, Otjimbingwe area."

No foul play is suspected, investigations into the matter continue.


In another incident, a (63) died in a head-on vehicle collision on the B2 road approximately 30 kilometres before Usakos on Friday (22 July).

"The driver, who was the only occupant was travelling in a VW Passat from the direction of Arandis. He collided head on with a truck loaded with charcoal. The truck driver (52) was alone in the truck. The sedan caught fire. The flames were extinguished by fire brigade officials from Arandis Town council who arrived at the scene. The driver of the sedan was stuck in his vehicle and he was declared dead on the scene by the paramedics. The truck driver was taken to Usakos state hospital for medical attention. He is in a stable condition."

The next of kin of the deceased person is not yet informed. Investigations into the matter continues.
