US innovation programme heads to Windhoek

The US embassy in Windhoek hosts a four-day Innovation and Product Design Bootcamp from 15 to 18 July 2022 at the Opera House at The Village in Windhoek.

This intensive experiential training program targeting university students, entrepreneurs and professionals, is free of charge and includes hands-on learning sessions on product development and design sprint techniques. Event details and registration are available at

In partnership with Dololo, the Bootcamp is led by Eric Gorman and Julia Jackson of Wily (an innovation and design print firm based in the United States) and Jeremy Losaw, director of engineering at Eventys Partners (a US-based full-service product development firm).

The four-day event is a collaborative, immersive and interactive experience, leveraging the best tools and practices from design thinking, design sprints, behaviour change, product development and engineering.

Participants will work in teams to create, prototype, and test solutions designed to solve a real-world challenge. The bootcamp provides a framework for purposeful innovation and prototyping that can be applied to any problem or process. The facilitators will layer into the sessions, real world experiences and techniques to provide key insights, best practices, and pitfalls to avoid during the design process.

The bootcamp is rooted in the Design Sprint process. Created by Google and refined at Google Ventures, Design Sprints are a proven, repeatable process for rapidly solving big challenges, creating new products or services, or improving existing ones. They compress months of work into just a few days. Successful teams around the world use Design Sprints to solve big problems and test new ideas, including Nest, Slack, 23andMe, Apple, AirBnB, LEGO, the British Museum and the United Nations.

Participants will gain confidence and learn practical skills that can be immediately applied to any challenge.

To ensure a high-touch experience, space is limited. While the event is free of charge, advance registration is required. All event details and registration information are available at
