New Miss Teen Swakopmund to be crowned

The Miss Teen Swakopmund pageant not only serves as a platform for woman to showcase their talent. It also serves as a platform from where beauty queens can launch a professional modelling career. The event is hosted by Johnathan Harris who is the founder and CEO of this event which will be taking place at the Swakopmund Hotel and Entertainment Centre.

Twelve finalist will be competing for the Miss Teen Swakopmund 2022 title on Saturday. They are Kaylee Jacobs, Anuschka Carew, Kaylin De Wee, Saima Neshuku, Sarah Kamati, Ania Badear, Nekischa Philander, Felesimine Andereki, Alexa van Wyk, Kimberley-Anne Van Reenen, Sierra Bernstein and Ngarune Katjariua. "The girls have been training for weeks and are ready to give attendees a quality show. Miss Teen Swakopmund 2022 public choice voting process already commenced on 31 August and the preliminary judging process was conducted on 3 September. High standards and quality is of huge importance for the Miss Teen Swakopmund planning committee," said Harris.

The Miss Teen Swakopmund 2022 finalist had the pleasure of learning about self defence with with Harry Simon Jr at The Dome Health and Training Centre. The contestants partnered up with the Cancer Association of Namibia, Erongo Office to raise funds for Namibians living with cancer and also had to orchestrate an act of kindness involving a community member or project.

The first pageant was hosted in 2018 and has since been making great efforts to empower young girls ensuring a better and brighter future for themselves. Earlier this year, Miss Teen Swakopmund 2021, Carol-Mary Delie was crowned as the first ever Miss Teen World Namibia following a license acquired by the Miss Teen Swakopmund Pageant Organization to represent Namibia in Ecuador in October. Renate Coetzee, the previous First Runner Up in the Miss Swakopmund 2021 pageant was crowned as the new Miss Teen Swakopmund 2021.

Miss teen Swakopmund will be filled with vibrant colours this year as Harris is planning to add a little dazzle. "We do not have a theme, but the colours for the event is gold, brown and black. The participants will be showcasing their costumes which is based on 'elements of the earth' earth, fire and water. We will be revealing these costumes from Friday already to give everybody a glimpse of what heading their way."

The judges panel will be manned by six persons including Leoné van Jaarsveld, Sarel Haith, Hendrik Marais, Melissa Lawrence, Elzaan de Klerk and Trixie Koch. "We have a diverse panel of judges who have been involved in different areas of pageantry. These individuals are hairdressers, beauty queens, makeup artist and generational mentors."
