Namibia Tourism Expo: 2m engagements

For the second time, tourism vouchers were on offer at the Namibia Tourism Expo.

Visitors could participate in a variety of initiatives and entertainment in order to qualify for one of the N$1 000 vouchers, which they could trade in at exhibitor stands when booking holidays.

A total of N$250 000 in vouchers was available this year. The expo’s two main sponsors, First National Bank (FNB) Namibia and Namibia Breweries Limited (NBL), not only supported the voucher project, but were present at the expo as exhibitors.

The much-anticipated event serves as synergy between the tourism sector, tourists and suppliers. Electronic communication and online engagement, which enabled people to follow the events at the Namibia Tourism Expo via the Tourismus Namibia Facebook page, proved crucial during the three-day event.

While a total of 6 053 visitors attended the expo on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, more than two million engagements were recorded on Facebook alone – 1.3 million of these directly on the Tourismus Namibia page.
