Student stabbed to death

Five men were arrested in connection with a murder which occurred on 5 March in Kuisebmond.

The arrests followed after Kavehungua Mupeu (18) a grade nine leaner at Kuisebmond Secondary School was stabbed and died. Three of the suspects have already appeared in court and the remaining two will appear in court, Walvis Bay tomorrow.

According to the unit commander for community affairs in the Erongo region, Inspector Ileni Shapumba, the deceased was allegedly walking home in the company of four friends when they were attacked (around 03:00) by a group of unknown guys in front of Cooldrink Fontein in Agaat street. "In the process, the deceased was assaulted and stabbed under the right arm. The deceased succumbed to his injuries while he was on his way to the hospital for treatment."
