Two private schools in Swakopmund received threats that explosive devices had been planted on school premises.

Inspector Ileni Shapumba, the Erongo Police Unit Commander for Community Affairs, confirmed that the principals of Private School Swakopmund and Pro-Ed Academy received threats via private emails on Friday morning. "The messages contained hate notes and an intention to injure or harm people, however not specifying the potential victim(s). The Namibian Police were alerted, and officers conducted a thorough search at both schools. No explosive devices were found. An investigation has been launched," he said.
