Robbers flee with N$49 000

Five armed men, robbed the manager of Puma Service Station in Walvis Bay.

The Erongo police called for public assistance from the public to help identify and trace five suspects who were allegedly involved in an armed robbery in Walvis Bay today.

The incident occurred at Puma Service Station in Rikumbi Kandanga Avenue. According to the incident report provided by the police, the victim (34) who is the manager of Puma Service Station, accompanied by his colleague, were walking from the service station to deposit money at Bank Windhoek. "A group of five suspects, two of whom were armed with pangas and the rest with knives, jumped from a white Toyota Quest with a fake number plate (N 25801 WB) and attacked them. The robbers snatched a bag containing N$49 000.00, jumped into the getaway vehicle and drove off. The complainant sustained slight injuries in the process."
