Fight ends in death

A man (23) was arrested in connection with a murder case in Walvis Bay.

The Erongo police commander for community affairs, inspector Ileni Shapumba confirmed the incident which occurred at about 05:00, next to house no.19 in 16th Road on Thursday. "The suspect allegedly beat the victim Anton Bouwer (45) with a hard object on the head several times during the fight, chased and bumped him with a vehicle causing his death. The next of kin of the deceased were informed."

Shapumba said that the suspect is currently admitted at Walvis Bay State hospital (under police guard) with a stab wound which he allegedly sustained during the fight. "The vehicle was impounded."
