Founded by local musician Savannah Collins, the Coastal Talent Show has grown from strength and provides a positive, fun and creative space for upcoming artists to showcase their talent, in front of a live audience.

Collins said the last event was a huge success. “It included 17 amazing local acts ranging from all ages and styles that performed for over three hours.”

She invited all acts including dancers, poets, musicians or comedians to enter, with auditions scheduled to commence on 1 May.

“Auditions must meet the shows standards in order to perform, along with a successful registration of the respective act. Auditions must be sent via WhatsApp or e-mail, ensuring that the submitted video is audible and of good quality.”

She further added the purpose of the show is to unearth the hidden gems in Namibia.

“I want to give them a chance to shine. This is a showcase and not a competition, as I want to establish a ‘family’ feeling amongst the participants and build positive friendships and working relationships within our community of artist.

“It is wonderful to see the positive effects and support this show has already given everyone, in such a short time”.

The Coastal Talent Show in collaboration with The Swakopmund Night Market, is proudly sponsored by Nambru and Varta. All acts are invited to enter. For more information, interested parties are encouraged to visit The Coastal Talent Show’s Facebook page.
