The eighth edition of the Katutura Sport Union’s (KASU) Winter Cup is underway at the Khomasdal stadium in Windhoek at the moment with N$25 000 in prize money up for grabs.

The football matches began at the Sam Nujoma Stadium on Saturday and continue today (Sunday) at the Khomasdal stadium, where the netball matches are also underway.

The final matches of both the netball and football competitions will be held at the Khomasdal Stadium on 15 June 2019.

This year the competition attracted three new football teams: Amastatus, Neudam College and Tom & Jerry. Boffing from Oruuua are the defending champions in the football category, while Windhoek-based Truck Team won the netball category last year.

Besides trophies and medals, the knock-out competition sees the winners in the netball category taking home N$4 000, while the winners of the football competition will walk away with N$8 000. The runners-up for netball and football win N$2 000 and N$4 500 respectively, while the losing semi-finalists will each get N$1 000 in the netball competition and N$2 250 for football.
