Whizz kids awarded

A variety of projects were showcased during the regional science fair competition held in Walvis Bay.

The regional science fair competition saw both primary and secondary schools from across Erongo competing against each other for a spot on the podium.

Laerskool Walvisbaai was awarded as best primary school with Duneside High School being the best secondary school.

Primary school learners who received gold medals were Keanu Pool, Fiina Nuute, Tanya Matsika, Willibard Sholoongela, Naomi Mushy, Blommie Awases, Edward Kleyn, Louise McCarthy, Laura Hidengwa, Innocent Musa, Bery Kawana and Kristin Peterson.

Silver medals were awarded to Danielle Welgemoed, Deodoris Dausab, Johann Operman, Kayla Burger, Leonica Folsher, Sela Shimi, Arthur Maanda, David Mahonga, Johannes Lucia, Thorston Fransman, Alex Rhoda, Joshua Visagie, Stacey Damster, Sergio Sakeus, Anneke Welgemoed, Neluscha Philander, Sebulon Kapolo and Sherrylin Auchas.

Bronze medals were awarded to Magdalena Hangula, Neolon Griqua, Seline Haindenga, Ivonne Namashana, Peneyambeko Jona, Benefit Kamati, Dylan Matheus, Whyley Areses, Rachel Mbahee, Casey Ouses, Afrikaner Chandre, Agnes Ashona, Tjivese Santiago, Zoe Mifilwa, Chantell Tsowases, Paloma Keeja, Lee Nguarambuka, Alisa Ais, Junias Marchiano, Helena Amakali, Elzay Keib and Jayda Elfrisha.

The secondary school category gold winners were Tanatswa Muganga, Jasmine Sitzer, Culenda Leonildo, Ihea Fredelingsdorf, Ines Martins Paa Alvo, Helena Uusiku, Jospehine Amavila, Killian Beukes, Simaneka Shilongi and Joedin Kamati.

Silver medalists were Pedro Fransina, Joice Guriras, Luvfrenz Ganaseb, Johannes Mumbala, Timoteus Elias, Walter Kazeundja, Dolcho Kirov, Jackson Namushinga, Riamekee Tjiraso, Saara Stephanus, Patricia Garoes, Paolo Joaquim abd Elrich Gawus.

Bronze medals were awarded to Georgina Coomber, Princess Mate, Naftali Shinyama, Anthony Palmer, Nsala Mbukusa, Erasmus Rauna, Priscilla Shongola, Dlamini Revival, Dredlee So-Aobes, Chantal Pekaha, Johannes Eposhe, Rulene Rave and Elizabeth Kashimbonde.

Selected learners will have a chance to showcase their projects at the sub-nationals science fair competition later this year.
