The 7th annual Walfisch Karnevalsverein (WAKA) kicked off last week with the Prinzenball on Friday and the Wakika on Saturday.
This year's theme is “Wir stellen alles auf”n Kopp” meaning “we turn everything upside down”.
This year’s Wakika Prinzenpaar is Prinz Robert and Prinzessin Xia and the
WAKA Prinzenpaar is Prinz Jaco and Prinzessin Tammy.
Tomorrow the WAKA will continue with the International Evening at the Atlantis Sport Club, followed by the float procession on Saturday. The procession will start at the municipality of Walvis Bay, proceed along Sam Nujoma Avenue, and end at the Atlantis Sport Club. There the Kehraus will be held with a small programme to end the Karneval. Prizes will also be awarded to the three best floats. The floats will be judged according to the utilisation of the theme and the creative way in showing the relevancy thereof.
