Walvis Bay - Adolf Kaure

Trustco United defeated Kudu Rugby Club 29-19 in a premier league rugby match at the Narraville Stadium in Walvis Bay.

The visitors who were trailing 11-5 at half time, overturned that deficit and fought back to claim the victory.

Trustco scored four tries through Felix Humphries (two tries), Michael Hummel and Hanreco van Zyl. Winmar Rust converted three of the four tries and also slotted a penalty for the away side.

Trustco United head coach Robbie Dickson said that he was pleased with his side’s improved second half performance.

“It is always difficult coming here and it was hard today. It was a scrappy first 40 minutes, but the guys showed some character in the second half. They improved in the second half and pulled it through. We came here to get the win and we got it.”

He said although his team did not win with the margin they aimed for, the victory however provides the team a benchmark to work from.

“A win always makes everybody feel good. Our target was to win with a 20 points margin.”

Kudu Rugby Club scored two unconverted tries through Cameron Stevens and Daniel Jeneke. Aurelio Plato added two penalties and Ulriato Lawrence another for the hosts.

In other matches played on the same day, Kudu Rugby Club II defeated Trustco United II 25-20 in an NRU Reserves League game.

SFC Vikings conquered Erongo Rugby Academy 77-0 in a NRU First Division West match.
