Shack dwellers moving earth

The Shack Dwellers Federation (SDF) branch in Narraville organised a very successful day of volunteerism on Saturday. Special advisor to the Erongo governor, Adelheid Bobby Kandjala, and various councillors joined over 500 SDF group members for an earthworks exercise at the site where council made 68 plots available for the construction of affordable houses. The day kicked off with a procession through the streets of the suburb to raise awareness for the plight of the group.
According to Francisco Maree a facilitator of the Narraville group, the process is now 70% completed. They would like to finish it by the end of November in order to start with the servicing and actual construction of houses in February 2019.
