Schools rugby gains momentum

Schools across the country are playing hard to make their mark in the Momentum rugby league.

The Walvis Bay Private High School Naartjies suffered a 17 - 24 defeat against Windhoek Gymnasium in a Momentum under 19 schools rugby league match yesterday afternoon.

Windhoek Gymnasium opened the scoreboard with a try. Walvis Bay Private High gained momentum and by half - time were leading with a score of 10 - 5. Three tries along with a conversion for the Naartjies set their final score, with the Gimmises scoring four tries along with four conversions.

In Swakopmund, Windhoek High School won Pro Ed Academy with a score of 20 - 8.

In another under 19 rugby league game, Windhoek Afrikaans Private School defeated Moria Private School 31 - 12. Five tries and three conversions for Windhoek Afrikaans set their final score, while Moria only managed to score through four penalty kicks.

Tsumeb Gymnasium is currently leading the log with 54 points, followed by Windhoek Gymnasium with 48 points and Windhoek High School in third with 45 points.
