The Namibian Ports Authority (Namport) donated science kits to the value of N$34 000 to Flamingo Secondary School.
The school was established in 2017, caters for grades 8 to 10, and currently has about 345 learners.
Immanuel !Hanabeb, executive for commercial services at Namport, encouraged the learners to take care of the equipment and to study
“Ten years from now, you can come and take over our positions at Namport. Even if you do not study science at first, don't despair.
“I first started in the pharmacy industry, moved to accounts and I am now in the marketing department. Whatever your choice is, focus on it and get it done.”
Principal Tessa Goagoses expressed her gratitude towards Namport. Head of the science department Elizabeth Amadhila added that the school constantly had to make use of expired materials or borrow equipment from the Rössing Foundation.
