Mady’s Flower and Gift shop situated in Henties Bay is the proud supplier of long life fresh flowers.
The fresh flowers are placed in special chemicals and coloured, which makes these flowers last up to six months without any water.
These flowers are ideal for weddings, functions, office and home.
Madelyn van Nieuwenhuizen, owner of Mady’s, says that fresh flowers, especially roses, tend to wilt very quickly especially in warm weather. This is usually in summer when most weddings and events take place. The long life flowers are ideal for those hot summer months.
“Your flowers will look fresh throughout your function. In addition, you can choose the colour of these flowers to blend in perfectly with your wedding.”
She explained that the flowers can be made a few months before your wedding, giving you one less thing to worry about on your big day.
The long life flowers can be combined with fresh flowers, however it won’t last that long. If placed in water, it can still last about a week. “The chemicals dissolve as soon as the flowers are placed in water and then they wilt and die like any other fresh flower.”
The long life flowers are slightly more expensive but last longer than fresh flowers which make it definitely worth the effort.
“Your wedding bouquet will almost look as beautiful as the day you got married.”
Although the shop is situated in Henties Bay, Mady’s can courier flowers and gifts nationwide. “We work via telephone, email and WhatsApp with clients who are not able to come to Henties Bay. We also have agents in Windhoek and Gobabis.”
Roses, carnations, proteas and greenery/foliage are available in the long life range.
A variety of flower arrangements can be found on the Mady’s Facebook page.
Aside from long life flowers, Mady’s also supplies hampers, bath salts, decor items and gifts.
