Les dors met Henties se eie bier

Hentiesbaai se eie bier gaan tydens die fees getap of bottelgewys verkoop word. Dis ‘n produk van Skeleton Coast Breweries en tot verlede jaar in Februarie taamlik bekend.

Administratiewe rompslomp het toe vir ‘n tydelike opskorting en sluiting van die brouery gelei. Ná 18 maande is nou aan al die vereistes voldoen en gaan die bier uit eie bodem op die fees vloei.

Stiaan Cloete, die broumeester, sê ‘n paar verrassings het op hom gewag toe hy die brouery ná die lang vertraging oopgesluit het. Alles was vol stof, donker, verlate en selfs ‘n bietjie spookagtig. Dit het nogtans tot groot opwinding gelei.

Die bier self het toe steeds op bemarking gewag en was bruikloos vir hul oorspronklike doel. Dit sal nou wel vir ‘n ander projek gebruik word. Daaroor sal ‘n latere aankondiging gemaak word.

Die eerste nuwe bier uit die aanleg sou die mark teen die middel van Augustus tref.

Teen druktyd was die beplanning vir die fees vatbier wat uit ‘n kraampie op die feesterrein verkoop gaan word en botteltjies wat met die Skeleton Coast-etiket aangeskaf kan word.

Nog ‘n bewering was dat ‘n jenewermaker van Walvisbaai moontlik ook met sy aanbod gaan kom.
