Learners benefit from educational tour

20 May 2019 | Education

Thirty-five grade 7 learners of Narraville Primary School (NPS) toured to South Africa recently. The learners visited various places of interest during the 16-day educational trip. After crossing the border they went on a sightseeing excursion to the Augrabies Falls National Park in Upington. They also visited the Cango Caves in Oudtshoorn, Rus en Vrede Waterfall, the Elephant Park in Knysna, Cango Wildlife Ranch (Oudtshoorn), a crocodile farm and the High Gate Ostrich Show Farm. They attended a Super Rugby match between the Stormers and the Bulls at Newlands Stadium in Cape Town, and visited Table Mountain, the National Aquarium and Robben Island. The learners also enjoyed some fun activities which included a visit to N1 City, the Coca-Cola factory, a chocolate factory and ice skating at Grand West Ice Rink. An educational tour offers various benefits. NPS introduced the tour in 2002 and the most recent excursion was the 17th of its kind over a 16- year time span. Learners are required to raise funds to cover the costs for the tour which usually takes place during the first term break. Photo contributed
