Walvis Bay - Leandrea Louw

The annual Le Tour d’ Narraville saw 150 cyclists and runners compete for the number one spot on Saturday.

This year’s event had a few new changes which included a timing system, trophies and medals for the winners as well as a new category called the combo ride.

The new category catered for the toughest group of riders. It started with a 70 kilometre night ride, followed by a 65 kilometre day ride. Kobus Blaauw was the best cyclist of the day. He crossed the finish line first for both rides.

Nathan Snyders (11) was also the youngest cyclist to complete the 65 kilometre ride.

The money generated through the entry fees will be donated to the Coastal Drug Awareness Campaign (CODAC) as well as to the Sunshine Kids Centre.

The rest of the results are as follow:

Men’s 65 kilometre cycling: Pierre Beukes (first), Craig Hearn (second) and Mark Botha (third).

Women’s 65 kilometre: Raquel Coimbra (first), Debbie Bailie (second) and Anri Matthee (third).
