Household names at summer festival

Well-known artists to grace the stage

The Swakopmund House festival which will take place at the Mondesa Stadium on 27 December will attract many household names.

South Africans Heavy K, DJ Fresh and Master KG will take to the stage to entertain local music lovers.

Heavy K, who goes by the government name Mkhululi Siqula, is one of South Africa’s most celebrated house artists. With hits like “Umoya”, “Celebration”, “Beautiful” and “Sweetie” which are popular all over Africa, including Namibia, Swakopmund music lovers will be very grateful that he is one of the international artists to make up the list of performers.

Thato Sikwane, better known to his fans as DJ Fresh, is another South African who will perform at the 2018 Swakopmund Summer House Festival. Born in Botswana, Sikwane has an array of talents at his disposal. The 46-year-old is a well-known television and social media personality as well as a club and radio DJ.

Now trending on Metro FM, the legendary DJ who has been in the music industry for over 30 years has groomed some of South Africa’s most celebrated artists like DJ Cleo, DJ Kent, DJ Sbu and DJ Euphonik.

“Skeleton Move” is a hit song which has captivated many on the Southern African sub-continent. There are even couples who have used the song which was done by Master KG and features Zanda Zakuza. Master KG is sure to be a welcomed addition to the lineup featuring at the 2018 Summer House Festival.

A Namibian act which is set to entertain at the Mondesa Stadium is Sunny Boy. The hip hop and kwaito musician, who is well known for his hits “Serious” and “Balance”, is an energetic performer and not foreign to the house scene.

Tickets to the event organized by Global Entertainment will be available at Computicket with a price tag of N$200 per person.
