Grumpy's fishing report

Grumpy Gramowsky, Outdoor Centre

So the full moon had troubled our waters the past weekend and very few catches were reported. I can tell you that Long beach wasn't up to scratch either and Long beach usually produces in rough seas. No need to cry over spilled milk so we head straight into this weekends predictions. Going on quarter moon, the conditions should be getting better but Neptune has again thrown a spanner in the works. Rough seas predicted for this weekend. There is also a RASSPL fishing competition on Saturday the 12th of August, held from mile 30 to the fence at mile 72. Anybody can enter and there are lots of prizes to be won. This is a family orientated fishing competition for young and old. Edibles or sharks may be caught. For more info come see me at Outdoor Centre @ Platz am Meer Mall.

There was one super catch reported last week and that was a serious monster of a bronze whaler (bronzy) caught by Corne Burger, son of legend fisherman Kapoen Burger. Corne went fishing after having done his homework (hopefully) and cast his bait out. Yes he indeed targeted sharks and he was well rewarded. The struggle lasted well over three hours and weighed in at an amazing 130 kilograms. His dad came to the rescue just to pull the shark from the beach breakers onto the shore, and after a quick photo and measurements, the monster was released once again. Hats off to you Corne, well played young man, well played. So with that I wish you all tight lines.
