Groblers wins NSC golf day

11 July 2019 | Sports

Walvis Bay Golf club hosted Namibia Ship Chandlers last weekend. The competition was played in a better ball format with both scores to count on the last six holes. This format with two scores spooked a few teams, with some reporting no points on at least one of the last six holes. Rumour has it that a missed short putt on the 18th relegated a team to 5th place and with only four prizes, it proved costly. At the end of the day the winners were Frans and Justine Grobler on 51 points, ahead of Jonas Niilenge and Eddie van Wyk in second place with 49 points, and Wynand Breytenbach and Tienie de Wet with their 48 points in third place. Thanks to Paul Sham for being present and handing out the prizes on the day. Here Shane and Wouter share a moment. Photo contributed
