Die Rock & Surf Super Pro League (RASPPL) het onlangs sy sewende kompetisie gehou.

RASSPL is ’n sport waarin die vis wat gevang word tydens ’n kompetisie weer vrygelaat word.

“Dit is ook ‘n sport met afdelings vir onder 10 en 16 , dames, meester en senior deelnemers. Die hele familie kan dus lekker saam hengel en kompeteer,” verduidelik Marina Kruger, die bestuurder van RASSPL Namibia.

Die sewende been van die kompetisie was besonders gewees vir die agtjarige Gabriella Strappazzon, een van die deelnemers in die junior afdeling vir meisies. Sy is reeds die oggend vyfuur saam met haar pa, Stefano, see toe om te gaan spesies soek.

Teen negeuur moes sy haar terughaas na Pro-Ed Akademie op Swakopmund waar hulle besig was met sport en gaan deelneem aan die hoogspringitem.

Daarna is sy weer see toe om verder te hengel in die onder tien-ouderdomsgroep.

Met haar terugkeer is sy goed beloon met vier spesies, naamlik ’n baber, gespikkelde sloephaai, spierhaai en arendrog.

Haar vangste het verseker dat sy as die top- junior meisie aangewys is.

Die finale kompetisie vind op 8 Maart tussen Horingbaai en die Kaapkruis-gebied plaas.
