Explosive hockey in harbour town

Teams from Walvis Bay, Swakopmund and Windhoek participated in a social indoor hockey tournament recently.

Walvis Bay - Leandrea Louw



Sparta Hockey Club hosted an indoor hockey social tournament with 12 teams competing in various categories.

Wolfies from Pro-Ed Academy claimed the number one spot in the under 14 boy’s category. Big Boys finished second and Stick Magnets third.

Spice Girls met Alphas in the ladies section final and won 1 - 0. The Land Fishes finished in third place.

Wolf Pack met Blue Whales in the men’s final. The game was tied 2 - 2 after full time. Wolf Pack claimed victory (5 - 4) in the ensuing penalty shootout. Pitbulls finished in third place.

The team with the best team spirit was Wine Not. The under 14 top goal scorer was Juan Swanepoel and the player of the day was Dillan Sinclair.

The ladies top goal scorer was Wilmé Els. Mikayla Bosman was named the player of the day.

Viali Visagie was named the men’s top goal scorer and Herman van Zyl was the player of the day.
