Desert Sport Festival is here!

Leandrea Louw - The sixth annual Buco Desert Sport Festival is set to take place from 19 March to 23 March at the Walvis Bay Private High School sports field.

This year nine Namibian schools and eight South African Schools will be competing in netball, rugby and hockey.

The schools include Walvis Bay Private High School, Windhoek Gymnasium, Tsumeb Gymnasium, Moria Privaatskool, Windhoek Afrikaanse Privaatskool, Windhoek Technical High School, Windhoek High School, Elnatan Privaatskool and Pro-Ed Academy. The South African schools are Linden High School, Hoër Heidelberg Volkskool, Wolmaransstad High School, Alberton High School, Porterville High School, Port Natal High School and Bryanston High School.

The festival will officially kick off with a gala dinner and will conclude with a Legends Evening on Friday, with South African rugby legends such as Chester Williams, Francois Bonthuys, Danie van Schalkwyk and Stefan Terblanche as guests. Action will continue with the final rugby, hockey and netball games on Saturday.
