The 40 over Coastal cricket league action continued at the coast last Sunday. Sparta took on and defeated Blue Waters 2 with 167 runs at the Sparta Club grounds.

Sparta won the toss, opted to bat first and scored 270 runs. Blue Waters 2 managed 103 runs. Jan Nel (73) and Enrico van der Westhuizen (56) were the top run sorcerers for Sparta.

Lea Gomaxas and Tangi Nuyoma were the top performing bowlers for Blue Waters 2 with two wickets each.

Allistar Gurirab (31) and Johannes Josef (26) were the best performing batsmen for Blue Waters 2.

Helmut Mack was on fire and claimed 5 wickets in 6.4 overs for Sparta.

JCCA defeated Blue Waters 1 with 4 wickets at the Oval.

Blue Waters I scored 216 runs. JCCA scored 219 runs for the loss of six wickets.

The best run scorerers for JCCA were Justus Hangula who registered 61 runs, John Calaca added 50 runs (including 3 sixes) and Herman Karsten contributed 48 runs.

Rico Mans took three wickets for 20 runs in 8 overs which also included 2 maidens.

Lauritz Haccou was in outstanding form with 90 runs from 53 balls for JCCA I. His innings included 10 sixes.

Herman Karsten was the best bowler for Blue Waters I with 3 wickets for 37 runs from 8 overs.

Welwitschia were in action against United and won by 93 runs in Windhoek.

Welwitschia scored 235 runs and United managed 142 runs.

Shalako Groenewald who hit four sixes in his innings of 65 and Rana Waqas (60) were the top run scorers for Welwitschia. Danie van Schoor was the top bowler for United with 4 wickets for 44 runs from 10 overs. He also managed two catches for his team.

Damon Coetzee was the best batsman for United with 30 runs. Ben Shilongo was the top bowler for Welwitschia with 5 wickets from 9 overs.

Welwitschia played Wanders 1 at Sparta yesterday (17 November). Today (18 Nov) Blue Waters 2 play Blue Waters 1 at the Oval and Swakop takes on JCCA in Swakopmund.
