Adolf Kaure – The Swakopmund based music group Coastal Army recently released their latest single titled “Ada”.

The group is working on an album which will be titled Movie. It will consist of a mixture of afro-house, afro-pop and afro-culture music. Movie is due for release later this year.

Coastal Army consist of Ally the Mini-King (Alfons Kanyetu), Sky King (Roberth Chifunga) and Snow-Zee (Simon Haingura).

The group was formed in 2017 by artists working together and who are highly motivated by the love of music. They realised they all share the same passion.

Sky King explained why the track “Ada” is special and unique.

“The song is an ode to adorable and beautiful women. Recording of ‘Ada’ actually started as a joke and without us knowing it could be someone out there’s favourite song. ‘Ada’ refers to beautiful, fine and very unique women. The song has a mind of its own and is quite a remarkable piece of music.”

Other hits released by Coastal Army include “Shooter” and “Movie”.

According to Sky King, the members of the group are inspired by Namibian artists like Gazza and King Tee Dee (previously known as The Dogg).

“They gave us hope to continue doing music. Naija (Nigerian) style music gives us the energy and the capability to strive for success. Most importantly, our friends and family who believe in us also keep us moving.”

The group members overcome several challenges in the past by believing in themselves, by sticking together and through working as a team.

Coastal Army do all genres, although they mainly specialise in afro-pop. The trio produce their own beats and do the recording and mastering themselves.
