Speaking at the prizegiving, the governor of the Erongo region and the patron of the Husab Marathon, Cleophas Mutjavikua, said his office is thrilled at being associated with the Husab Marathon, adding that the event is key to building relationships among contestants especially outside of work.
“The event is not only aimed at fitness, but also aimed at ensuring that the workers and their families socialise outside the workplace. Informal discussions are always necessary to build relationships among the citizens,” Mutjavikua said.
He added that the proceeds of the marathon are destined for a local community programme.
